Hey friends,

It has been a while since I have had any major updates for this blog and I would like to get better at that. Sorry for the silence. As usual, I have about 10,000 things in the works.

First off, I was recently featured in a podcast interview with the wonderful Full Metal Hipster, where I talked about the newest Cuscuta release "Ruin," the 2016 Evergreen Refuge release "Anima," my recording process, and some of the other projects in the works. If you have not seen that yet, check it out here.

2017 has already been busy, though mostly behind the scenes at the moment. I have not been too incredibly active on the social media front, but I assure you all that things are happening.

As I mentioned, Cuscuta saw the release of "Ruin" recently. It was a long time coming but I am glad to finally see this one out into the digital realms. A Moment of Clarity Recordings will be creating tapes for this in the coming months. I hope to see this through by the Summer, but it will possibly not be until Autumn. The response thus far has been humbling and I appreciate all the support this project has received over the past 3 years. If you have not heard that album yet, you can listen/download here.

Close to the start of the year, my good friend and Zakarion collaborator Thrall and I (under my moniker Oneiromancer) released a split album titled "as they became us." This is also currently only available in the digital realms via the Zakarion bandcamp. I will be offering a small run of tapes of this recording very soon.

Zakarion will have a private initiatory performance this coming weekend, which I am really looking forward to. Recordings of this may be possible, but I cannot promise anything. Other than that, there is not much to say of this project.

Oneiromancer, since its conception, was intended to be a performance project primarily. Thus, there is always much in the works with this project. In a month or so, I will be offering a live ritual for those of you in Denver. I will have more details on this soon.

Evergreen Refuge is deep in the recording process for its tenth offering, tentatively titled "Skyward." This, of course, will not see light for quite some time. You might be wondering about the ninth full-length. That recording, titled "...Growing..." is complete and awaiting proper release, which may be a while from now due to the amount of other things taking priority. But rest assured, that project is alive and well! More news on this and other fronts to come...

I also have been slowly chipping away at a recording for my ambient project Tunica Externa, which is nowhere near completion, but I hope to have it done by the summer. Only time will tell, of course. There are many directions I would like to go with this project but I have to keep reminding myself to take it one step at a time.

That's it for now, but I hope to keep this updated with news as it comes. I am also looking for a place to have as a storefront for future releases, so if any of you folks have advice I would love that. I have a lot of hopes and plans for this label and I would like to see them through but unfortunately life does not slow down for you.

Endeavors for 2016

Greetings! I hope you all had a happy Yule. Yule is quite a busy time for me both physically and mentally. The darkest time of the year leads to quite a lot of reflection. 2015 was quite a chaotic year as well. I moved and had to gather my life together somewhat. I am finally coming into comfort, after all this time. 

I first want to mention that A Moment of Clarity has a new Facebook page for updates. I lost the old page, which I mentioned in my last post. It is also important to mention that this page will be the page for future Evergreen Refuge updates. Rather than making several scattered pages for updates, this blog and Facebook page will contain all of my musical endeavors.

-Evergreen Refuge - "Fungal"
~1 track, 56 minutes
A meditation on the strength of the fungal beings of the planet with the hope that these beings can break down the remains of civilization when humanity inevitably extinguishes itself. More news on its proper release in the coming months, most likely.

-Cuscuta - "Ruin"
~2 tracks, 50 minutes
A dismal observance of our apocalyptic times.
"To those who cannot speak any longer. We could not hear your calls... we chose not to feel your pain. Now we understand..."

-Arête
I can't say anything about this aside from the fact that it's a collaboration with my good friends, Deafest and Twilight Fauna musically, Nicholas Trandahl's lyrics, and Infinite Forests Photography doing visuals.

-Evergreen Refuge - Untitled Project
This is what I am working on at the moment. I'm about halfway through. It is an exploration of animism and mythology, in a single meditative track. A way of shedding my own humanity. I don't know if it will exactly be released in 2016. It depends on the release of "Fungal."

-Oneiromancer - Untitled Project
I have also been working on ideas for another live ritual. Not sure on the state of its performance at the moment, but a recording will happen at some point in the near future.

A manifestation of some live-recorded improvisations. No news on its release, either, since I only just released "Awash in the Swells of the Ocean."

Other stuff on the horizon, including potential collaborations and ideas brewing with Thrall on Zakarion material. 2016 is gearing up to be a year of collaborations.

The year has just begun, and the days are getting longer from here on. The journey is far from over.

Hey friends, 

Sorry for the silence..

A number of things have been going on since the last A Moment of Clarity release. I have been very busy on the music as well as personal fronts.

To start, I should mention that a few months back, Facebook contacted me and said that I was not using my "authentic" name, which I was not technically. With this, they asked me to upload a picture of a personal document to prove my name and age. For obvious reasons, I did not do this. However, what this means for A Moment of Clarity and all of my musical endeavors is that I lost admin rights to all of my music pages. This includes the Dylan Rupe, Evergreen Refuge, Cuscuta, and A Moment of Clarity Facebook pages. This would not have been a problem aside for the fact that it was so abrupt. I have not been able to figure out how to let people know. Until then, I have this blog to share information with all that may want to know what is going on. The Evergreen Refuge page has recently passed 1,000 "likes," so if anybody can redirect people here until I can figure it all out, that would be most appreciated...

In other news...

I have relatively recently released two albums, under my moniker Tunica Externa, which is my somber project that is ever changing. The two albums are of the drone and post-rock variety. 

"The Black Brim of the World" is an album that I did with spoken word contributions by my good friend Nicholas Trandahl, who is a contemporary author and poet as well as the artist who did the cover for the album. Check his writings out here.

 

"Sorrows & Surreality" is yet another drone/post-rock album, based around three movements. It is recorded entirely using guitars and pedal effects. 

 I also have my debut performance of this project on September 27th at Mutiny Cafe in Denver, CO.


Among these recordings, I have also recorded something for yet another project (I know, I have a lot of projects), called "Oneiromancer." This is a dark ambient/noise/drone project intended as a live ritual of sorts. The first recording, tiled "Oblivion" can be found here. Hopefully there will be live performances in the near future...

Oneiromancer has also collaborated with a good friend, Thrall on a really dark ambient/noise/drone recording. This project, titled Zakarion will have its debut recording very soon through Red River Family Records. More news to come...

And speaking of Thrall, I am helping release his first recording "Hell is a Body" on tape. The album can be found here. The tape will be coming very soon. 

A Cuscuta album, which has been complete for some time now will eventually be released through Red River Family Records as well. This album, titled "Ruin" is a bleak and apocalyptic blackened doom metal album. No news just yet on the date of the release. 

There is another album under the Cuscuta project which is pretty much complete. I am not too sure on the status of this album, if I want to release it or not. It is a very drone based doom album.. We will see. Either way, it will be quite a while from now...

AND last but certainly not least... 

This summer I recorded the next Evergreen Refuge album. This album, titled "Fungal" is a mediation on the fungal beings of the earth with a hope that they can break down the remains of civilization when humanity inevitably exterminates itself. There is some exciting news on the release of this album but I cannot say anything at the moment. I am hoping for a late 2015/early 2016 release...

The Store is Open

Hey all,
The label's store is now open. Currently, I just have all the CDs that are available at the Evergreen Refuge bandcamp. However, the Oneiria box sets are visible. They will be available very soon..

Hey everybody,
I've just completed the initiation process for the "Oneiria" box sets. I have also taken photos of the products. Thus, the store is just about ready to open. The box sets will not be available just yet, however they will be seen on the site. "Earthborn" CDs are available too. For those that ordered these CDs on the Evergreen Refuge bandcamp, I will be getting those to you as soon as possible..

Greetings and welcome to A Moment of Clarity Recordings, the new "label" for the musical endeavors of Dylan Rupe (Evergreen Refuge, Dylan Rupe, Cuscuta, among others).

Until now, these recordings have been scattered about the internet. Due to the creation of new physical releases of material, I have decided to create a place of consolidation of these endeavors, for your convenience. This will be a place of news and updates..
